HMS Decoy (Cdr. E.G. McGregor, DSO, RN) departed Tobruk for Benghazi escorting the auxiliary M/S trawlers HMS Arthur Cavanagh (Skr. T.W. Kirby, RNR) and HMS Milford Countess (T/A/S.Lt. R.H. Vallings, RNR). At Benghazi the harbour had to be cleared of mines.
