HMS H 43 (Lt. B.J.B. Andrew, DSC, RN) conducted A/S exercises off Tobermory with HMS Racehorse (Cdr. A.F. Burnell-Nugent, DSC, RN) and HMS Filla (T/Lt. T.C. Newth, RNVR). (1)

HMS Filla (Lt. J.B. Hornby) picks up 59 men from the British merchant Stanmore that was torpedoed and damaged by German U-boat U-223 near Cape Ivi, Algeria in position 36°41'N, 01°10'E.
