HMAS Waterhen (Lt.Cdr. J.H. Swain, RN) arrived of Sollum and commenced an A/S patrol.
At 2105C/30, she collided with the A/S trawler HMS Bandolero (Lt.Cdr. F.M.W. Harris, RNR) and the trawler sank at 2150C/30. HMAS Waterhen was able to pick up the entire crew of HMS Bandolero.
HMAS Waterhen continued the A/S patrol despite damage to her bow. (1)
