HrMs O 9 (Lt.Cdr. H.A.W. Goossens, RNN) participated in A/S exercises off Campbeltown together with HMS Angle (T/Lt. E. Playne, RNVR) and HMS Boarhound (Skr. S.G. Jinks, RNR). (2)
9 Mar 1942
HMS Angle (T/Lt E. Playne, RNVR) picks up the sole survivor from HMS Notts County which was sunk by the German submarine U-701 southeast of Iceland. She was herself missed by three torpedoes fired by the U-boat in two unsuccessful attacks during this encounter.

HMS Thrasher (Lt.Cdr. A.R. Hezlet, DSC, RN) departed Kames Bay for Lerwick. One board was one Welman midget submarine.
Thrasher was escorted by HMS Angle (T/Lt. A.L. Kerr, RNVR). (5)
2 Aug 1943
HMS Thrasher (Lt.Cdr. A.R. Hezlet, DSC, RN) departed Kames Bay for Port H.H.Z. On board was still one Welman midget submarine but two others had to be embarked from HMS Titania that was moored at Loch Corrie (Port HHX).
Thrasher was escorted by HMS Angle (T/Lt. A.L. Kerr, RNVR). (6)
