HMS Tantivy (Cdr. M.G. Rimington, DSO, RN) conducted attack exercises at/off Scapa Flow for the C.O.Q.C. (Commanding Officers Qualifying Course) with HMCS Huron (Lt.Cdr. H.S. Rayner, DSC, RCN) and HMIS Godavari (Capt. J.W. Jefford, OBE, RIN). (2)

HMS United (Lt. N.R. Wood, RN) conducted A/S exercises off Plymouth with ML 159 (T/Lt. B.D. Gerrans, RNVR), ML 183 (T/Lt. A.J. Wright, RNVR) and ML 184 (T/Lt. R.W.A. Winter, RNVR), HMS Melbreak (Lt. G.E.C.G. Baines, RN), HMIS Godavari (A/Capt. J.W. Jefford, OBE, RIN), HMS Neave (T/Lt. T. Ross, RNVR) and HMS Skomer (A/Skr.Lt. D.E.S. Mair, DSO, RNR). (3)

During the night of 5 to 6 June 1944, HMS Spirit (Lt. A.W. Langridge, RN), conducted exercises off Trincomalee. These included A/S exercises together with HMIS Godavari (A/Cdr. A.B. Goord, RIN) and night exercises. (4)

HMS Surf (Lt. D. Lambert, DSC, RN) conducted exercises off Trincomalee with the Indian sloop HMIS Godavari (A/Cdr. A.B. Goord, RIN) and her escort group. (5)

12 Aug 1944
German U-boat U-198 was sunk near the Seychelles, in position 03°35'S, 52°49'E, by depth charges from the British frigate HMS Findhorn (Lt.Cdr. J.C. Dawson, RD, RNR) and the Indian sloop HMIS Godavari (A/Cdr. A.B. Goord, RIN).
