History | HMS Umpire (Lt. Mervyn Robert George Wingfield, RN) was sunk on 19 July 1941 in a collision with the British armed trawler HMS Peter Hendriks north-west of Cromer, Norfolk in position 53º09'N, 01º08'E. She was on passage from Chatham to the Clyde. 22 of her crew went down with the ship. |
