HMS Chelmer (Lt.Cdr. R.A. Cherry, RNR) picks up 36 survivors from the Norwegian merchant Ruth I that was torpedoed and sunk in the North Atlantic in position 45°05'N, 35°11'W by German U-boat U-302.
