Notes on event

At 17.25 hours on 10 Sep 1939 the Magdapur (Master Arthur George Dixon) struck a mine, laid on 4 September by U-13 and sank within minutes off Orford Ness. Six crew members were lost. The master and 74 crew members were rescued by the Aldeburgh lifeboat and coasters.
