At 19.23 hours on 21 Dec 1941 the Annavore was torpedoed by U-567 in convoy HG-76 and sank almost immediately. Only 2 able seamen and 2 engineers survived, 27 Norwegians, 6 British and 1 American died - two of them were passengers.
Three hours later, the U-boat tried to attack convoy again but was sunk with all hands.
